Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister at Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix's athletic talent was evident from the moment she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After a few weeks of the first attempt she made the sport, she finished second for 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed high school in 2003 and became a part of Adidas a contract as a professional athlete. In the following year, she attended University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. She set the Junior World Record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. In 2007 she defended that title, beating her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed within the top three across her diverse races during the Olympics that took place at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
